The Legacy of the Two Kings

Ain’t it but truth
That as we dive further into history
We become it
With music blasting
And children laughing
And dreams are waving
Like the sea bashing onto the shore
But the lineage of two legacies shine
They shine with great appeal and animosity
For what the people of their time feared the most
Well that would be
That the actions of these two men would lead to
What they weren’t ready for
Equal rights and racial integration
Whether through song or march
Whether through speech or swaying of hips
These two men intentional or not
Were striking up a new Enlightenment
Their followers… their fans… their rivals
They that gave them the light to shine
Made them who they were
One a poor white boy from Mississippi
And the other a son of a preacher man
With equality in the air
1954 one became a preacher himself
He being Martin Luther King and the other
Elvis A. Presley makes his debut performance
I'm gonna sit right down and cry over you
But really though poor white boy was to become a wealthy man and this is the start of the story Ce le debut de l'histor
Fighting fire with fire isn’t always the thing to do
Anger and rage never prevail
Bus boycotts… suing the Beatles… military and political action FBI work to get Lennon evicted as an illegal
Gaining support from guys like JFK and Nixon and most of the Baby-Boomers
These guys became infamous and beloved at the same time
Dying young but still lingering around
Their legacies live on
Free and together under a rainbow of music
These guys… These icons… These kings…
Though they are dead, they have not left the building
So as long as we keep their legacies alive
I have one more thing to say
Free at last… Free at last… Thank god almighty we’re free at lost
So uh, uh thank you... thank you very much
Peace
