Leaving You

Leaving you

A hundred tears roll down my cheek

I choke on my preplanned speech

I am scared wondering

Why you look so frail

You make it hard to speak

But I must do what’s best for me

Being with you is like drowning

You’ve hurt me too much for counting

With you there is no me,

I am only what you want me to be.

I can no longer live like this

But I will truly miss

The few good times we shared

At the beginning when I thought you cared

You and I may share love

But I must keep my head above

This tidal wave we called a relationship

That was really only a dictatorship.
