Laughing at the World (Inspired by the Hunchback of Notre Dame)

All of my friends are dead.

They can breathe but they're all hallow.

Saying "What a life," but putting on a show,

stuck on an endless merry go round.

They're writing good lyrics without a sound.

When I'm laughing at the world I feel ten feet tall.

When I'm laughing at the world nothing matters at all.

When I'm laughing at the world I don't feel so small.

You're playing hide and seek every day,

looking for the real you.

With the truth you're playing keep away.

Playing tag with the real you.

When I'm laughing at the world I feel ten feet tall.

When I'm laughing at the world nothing matters at all.

When I'm laughing at the world I don't feel so small.

I sit in a box the world put me in,

where the walls are so very thin.

A bird in a cage with no song.

but I'll spread my wings before long.

I'm laughing loud just to get by.

It’s the only thing that still gives me a high.

When I'm laughing at the world I feel ten feet tall.

When I'm laughing at the world nothing matters at all.

When I'm laughing at the world I don't feel so small.
