A Knot of Hope

Location

A daughter born from sin

In my father’s eyes I could never win

A home, my cage

Full of hate and rage

Bruises covering my mother

Made by the man I call father

Screams, wakening me in the dead of night

Much too small to put up a real fight

As the sun awakes so shall peace

For my nightmare will vanish, as will the Beast

A rope-a rope with a knot

Is the money that bought

My home sickened hope

Hope that causes us to choke

The flesh of the abuser now wears the color

Purple and blue hidden underneath his collar

A daughter paying for all her father’s sin

Will she ever be able to win?
