Kings & Queen Lil's

whispered thru the dim haze ghosts of midnight passing

unfurled lines of phantom smoke things that had to happen

dauntless drama dazzled & dazed romance regal & rapping

bolstered by another drink & toke dancers still there clapping

often seen the bar-room queen watched thru a smile well taken

her practiced boredom lit the scene eyes danced with fantasy mistaken

holding court thru a gaze of visions still unshaken what she didn't know about

she had a way of faking

strangled streams of silent shadows watched the winners glowing

desperate attempts unshackled now mocking who was going

forsaken fate deserted them fickle fortune was dtill flowing

puzzled faces longed & wondered how they had no way of knowing

sitting in the wings the bar-room king his presence languid & u folding

fime had taught him all the songsto sing to smiles that he was scolding
not to be rejectedby the minds that he wqas molding...

bar-room blues tumble thru feelin' forced & humbled

bar-room scenes still haunt you you now gettin'up ro walk away

like ano=ther hand off fumbled gettin'up to walk away found that

you still stumbled....shhdop bouydooi wop too ...oowho you...
