Killing Our Last Breath

Living in fear

Each and Everyday

Of Stepping outside

Or kneeling to Pray

Our forefather’s built this nation

On Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness

“Our broad stripes and bright stars”

Have persevered through

“The Rocket’s red glare

And the Bomb’s bursting in air”

Through it all our nation stood still

Now the land of the free and home of the brave

Has become land of the tears and home of the scared

We can no longer hold our heads high

While our young generations die

And “thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand”

We can proudly smile hand in hand

From the massacres to the lonely deaths

Shootings are killing

Killing our last breath

To persevere in the coming years

We must revolutionize and rebegin

To rebuild our failing nation

From gun control

To planned parenthood

And everything in between

We must rethink

Everything.

Let this be our motto: “In God is our trust”

“And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave

O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!”
