Keep on going

John 3:27 New English Translation (NET Bible)

27 John replied, “No one can receive anything unless it has been given to him from heaven.

Keep on going

Do I really appreciate all the people in my life?

Or am I just selective and addicted to the ones I like?

Is not the gift supplied in all far beyond child and wife?

But in all, we meet the ones we enjoy and we dislike

Selected giving is one thing and receiving another

Should we not accept what is freely given as such?

Is it not here the point that darkness really bothers

To accept just what we want and is acceptable to us

“It is better to give than receive”. An excuse guided by emotion?

As we’re enjoying existing in the twilight bathing in self

Is this not any more than self-abuse towards one’s own devotion?

At the expense of all as every round gets interrupted by the bell

No one lives by self and neither no one dies that way

Somewhere in the “unknown”, we’re all tied together

To understand this or not is no surprise day today

For in “our” world conscience seems light as a feather

It lays no heavy burden on our disposition

The ears to hear were plugged long ago

We examine ourselves with home-made religion

So we can be at peace as we go on and go
