Just You

Sometimes you're just a paper- crumpled, torn, and stained

Sometimes you're just a prisoner- locked in with the pain

Sometimes you're just a grain of sand- drowning in the tide

Sometimes you're just a kicked over bucket- missing all your pride

Sometimes you're just a broken doll- left alone to weep

Sometimes you're just a shattered glass- one no one wants to keep

But...

Sometimes you're a mighty oak- standing tall by your own roots

Sometimes you're a sunny smile- beautiful in your use

Sometimes you're a flower- strong in your resilience

Sometimes you're a radiant star- with people reveling in your brilliance

Sometimes you're a gleaming diamond- no need to be refined

Most of all you're just you- the one loved most in everyone's minds
