Just Didn't Know

If I knew then what I know now my heart would've probably felt lighter.

At times I use to blame you, but you are just a survivor.

I'm sorry for the times that I made the situations worse.

It felt like life for us was nothing but a curse.

So I'm writing this letter to let you know that I understand.

I'm writing this letter to let you know I'll always hold your hand.

The choices you made weren't always bad; sometimes happy, sometimes sad.

I couldn't see then that you did what you had to do, but I see it now so this is my apology to you.

I often wondered why life was always so dreary.

I never stopped to think that your eyes too got teary.

I always thought that you were strong, but you're much stronger now.

I look at you daily and wonder how you got through it.

You made it seem like there was nothing to it.

Battles became normal and the smiles started to fade, but I never thought about the tough decisions that had to be made.

Today I love you more than ever because I finally get to see that everything that you did or didn't do was for me times 3.
