A Job To Change My Life

Bread crust crunches between my fingers

The enticing aroma around me lingers

Dancing beneath my nose

As food in the oven-heat languor’s

A sounding timer as pleasant as singers

Announces the food is done

Gregariously gathering around the table

We give thanks for one born in a stable

And eat bread of life divine

Trying hard to align

Our hearts with each other

A harder job than any other
