I put my love upon a self, in a jar,
To leave my heart safe from mar.
From what perils lie beyond,
Once love meets the last dawn.
And fly away do feelings,
And rumble by do reelings.
Or memories charred by death,
Of loves last parting breath.
And never did I stumble past,
The thing kept encased in glass.
Of hate and woe lived in there,
Where loves great space was shared.
The percussions of a loving drum,
Beating back a senseless hum.
Of tempest starting after sun,
And a love who away has run.
And taken with them happiness,
leaving my jar with emptiness.
But upon a shelf dust collects,
Memories still to recollect.
But in a jar they keep my hope alive,
Because there the pain alone resides.
