An Island All Alone

Should I fall isolated

On an island all my own

I’d wish for a break,

A relief,

Or pause.

From all the worries,

Anxieties,

And vain wishes,

Circulating through my mind

Complain and draining.

I’d plug my ears to silence the voices

Only to hear my pulse,

A deafening defeat.

Because is not a beat.

A base,

A synethzier,

An instrumental crescendo…

If only I had a distraction,

A voice,

Or melody.

 An ear worm of harmonies

Drowning my inner cacophonies.

Lyrics.

Songs.

Music.

Playlists.

Blissful distraction.

White noise.

Whilst I work out my problems

Through theirs.

On an island all alone.

Emotions, fears, conundrums…

Advantageously not my own.

So…

Should I fall isolated

In seas of worry,

Sands of fatigue,

And sky of apprehension.

On an island alone,

I’d never leave my music.
