Invisible Ties

I've always believed,

that we meet everyone for a reason.

Some people are there to build you up,

encouraging words mortar for the soul.

Others are there that will pull you down,

vicious taunts

backhanded words

snarky replies that trip you up.

It begins to feel like you're falling, trudging through quagmire

unable to rise.

The most essential thing is learning to ignore

learning to push on

learning that there is always someone out there,

rooting for you

you're connected by invisible ties.
