Invisible Rebellion

The freedom to form my own opinions

Is the single thing I hold most dear.

If that freedom became someone's acquisition,

My life would end, I fear.

They try to tell me how to think.

What to believe, what to learn.

It's starting to sound like doublethink,

Their advice that I should not overturn.

But their control over me, I steal.

I rebel, and I think as I choose.

None tell me how to think or feel,

And I parrot no one else's views.

I am so proud to say such a thing.

You could not imagine the comfort it brings.
