Interrogation Room

Fri, 09/06/2019 - 23:58 -- RRankin

24 hours, 1440 minutes, 86400 seconds, 32 dead, 2 cities, 2 men, 2 guns.

One day in America. The normal for millions.

Glazed over looks staring at the news on the TV.

News anchors relay the facts for hours on end while the rest of us wait for the next one.

Tweets flooding in commenting, "My prayers are with the victims and their families."

A country in shock while we argue about what to do.

Let's stop the fake sympathy because the only thought we are thinking is, "Thank God it wasn't me."

This shouldn't have been able to happen in the first place.

I know you like breaking records America but this is not one to be proud of.

We have a government that holds themselves to such a high standard yet,

when stricter gun laws are being served for dinner they act as if they are full.

They can say they feel awful this happened but they can't look the victims families in the eyes

and tell them what they are going to do to stop this pain.

So yes, those two men have 30 innocent peoples blood on their hands

but the government should be in the interrogation room right next to Connor and Patrick.
