Innocence

Disney movies teach us to be kind and love others.

Give your heart to those who need it.

Make others happy, it will make you happy.

But when is it too much?

Here are my toys. Play with them as much as you want.

Here is my innocence. Take as much as you need.

Please be careful; they are fragile.

Time went on, and I grew, but my innocence still lingered

Until it was taken before I could say bye.

The second I laid on that bed, I lost it.

It could not bear the pain I endured in that moment and left me.

So I say goodbye to the toys,

to the princess movies

and to the places I felt safe in.

I am no longer a child without the innocence that refused to stay with me.
