Indulgence

I am the one who watches.

The talons in the evening.
The daggers in the night.
The one that tucks you in.
The one that brings you light.
I watch you while you sleep.
Guide you while you wake.

I know everything that you want.
And exactly what to take.

I can bring you heaven or hell.
All in a moment’s wish.
Just put your faith in me.
Your memories are remiss.

I can give you what you want.
If only you will indulge.
I’m the Devil in the flesh.
If only you will indulge.
