Bring rain to city streets

 Thirsty flora and fauna

Wind, wet with wild waterdrops

            Beat a fervent staccato against windows

                        Swirls magnificent flowing tresses to frizzed disarray

Little lassies scamper with fright to their mothers at the mere threat of thunder

            While young lads simply stare bright-eyed at the vivid lightning

                        Mesmerized by the clatter and patter of haildrops upon glass panes

An elderly couple smiles at the subsiding rain through lace curtained parlor windows

            For another storm surged within their aching bones the previous morn, warning them

                        Grateful for the present relief the torrent provides
