Impulse

These red lips aren't red for you

I didn't bight them because I was

Anticipating anything

Or scared

I didn't paint my face because

The other girls did

I did it because I

Felt like me

I did it because

I did.

I don't text you because

They told me to.

My iPhone is my best friend

Because it's that good.

Because I use it.

Not because they told me to.

I did it because it

was right for me.

I didn't join this society because

I was put here.

I didn't enter the club because

My school required it.

I didn't choose this job

Because the paycheck.

My life didn't exist there before I

Placed it

I did it because

It was my choice.

I wasn't born

From impulse.

I grew because

Time happened.

Not because

Chance

I climbed the stairs because I wanted to

I wasn't forced.

I unlocked the door because I found the key

It wasn't given to me.

I walked to the edge because I wanted to.

I looked at the cars because I wanted to.

I leaned forward because

I wanted it.

I fell.

I did it because

No one really

Asked why.
