Write your apologies down on a piece of paper
Then take a dive off a skyscraper
As you fall, life flashing before your eyes
You feel guilty over past crimes
And slowly you begin to see
That maybe these images aren't what they seem to be
Hopelessly the world turns around us
Some will crumble, some will survive
But not I
Winds of change blow in with the breeze
Self destruction infecting like disease
These walls crack and spin
It's with you that I can never win
The skyscraper stands above my head
Running, I dive off the very end
Together we fall, life flashing before our eyes
We feel guilty over taking our own lives
And slowly I begin to see
That maybe these images aren't what they seem to be
Crash and burn, that's what they say
You'll never amount to anything
Not tomorrow and certainly not today
Over the years you started to believe
That there was really no point in trying
To be whom you wanted to be
Condemned to an existence of servitude
We slip into the mold of black and blue
Hopelessly the world turns around us
Some will crumble, some will survive
But not I
Winds of change blow in with the breeze
Self destruction infecting like disease
These walls crack and spin
It's with you that I can never win
The skyscraper stands above my head
Running, I dive off the very end
Together we fall, life flashing before our eyes
We feel guilty over taking our own lives
And slowly I begin to see
That maybe these images aren't what they seem to be
So sick of the insults
So sick of the screaming
So tired of cutting and so tired of being nothing
You and me, we have to break free
So let's go to that skyscraper
And be who we need to be
Winds of change blow in with the breeze
We step to the edge and survey the scene
The world stands above our head
Running, we dive off the very end
Together we fall, life flashing before our eyes
We feel guilty over taking our own lives
And slowly I begin to see
That maybe these images ARE what they seem to be
