When people think of suicide,

what thought comes to mind?

Some people think coward,

but I think of power.

The power to take your own life,

without knowing what happens next,

is not a cowardly act but the next step.

The next step to a life where one if free,

leaving their loved ones behind unable to see.

Unable to see the pain they might leave for me,

because he just wanted to be happy.

He could not see past the hurt,

like he would always be stuck in the dirt.

But did he think of me when he tied the rope,

an image with which I still cannot cope.

He was 23, young as can be,

with a life full of dreams he could not see.

To take your life is a selfish act of power,

as you set yourself free, leaving us to cower.

My best friend left me to find him,

without a warning, without a sign.

I found his lifeless body the day I lost my mind.

I couldn't agree more. You feel like you're in a state of pain and can never escape and I don

think that person is cowardly
