I'm not free.
I feel as if I was back then
With Martin Luther, Jesse Jackson
Because I still hear slurs, it's distractin'.
Friends say, "Cool down, someone relax him"
But today I'm mad now as they were mad then.
I'm not free

I have a dream, don't want to wake up.
Because what awaits us
Is confusion, hate....Love.
Barely anything on my mothers pay stubs
Why did I have to wake up?
I'm not free

You see, They were there together
Lincoln, Luther in Dc
That same "I have a dream speech"
Depicts the same things i see in my dream sleep.
I'm honest like the memorial near the monument
And now, as confident
As that moment when Martin went...
"The Negro is still not free"

A nightmare within a dream was happening
My alarm goes off, no more time to sleep
Awakened by a sound, a freedom ring.
Took a minute awake before noticing
I'm free.
.......I'm Free.
Thank you, so dearly, Dr. King.
I'm Free.
