I'm just a writer

I'm just a writer, nothing special
I just script my thoughts
Numb my soul and write
A contraceptive
My medicine to heal or relieve my scars.
I don't think about inspiring others
I'm just a writer
I don't think about changing perspectives
I'm just a writer
My writing has a mind of its own
I'm pinky and the brain; well more the brain than anything
Writing is like cancer to me once planted in your system I begin to sprout new limbs and mutate
I begin to latch on to your cells
I begin to make you think
I'm just a writer
I'm like a root
My ideas are the stems
While the world is my sun
Feeding me life
Starving me of individuality when I want it to
Growing into a plant that's infected with greatness
But for now I'm just a writer
