I'll See You In My Dreams

I can feel you

all around me;

you are the constant breeze

making subtle noises on the entire backyard.

Dead pine needles the same

color as your hair hang

surrounded by the green,

of life.

"Let me sing and I'm happy,"

the Ervin Berlin cover is played by

the one-man act on the guitar.

I watch your son, a grown man,

a loved grandfather, reminisce,

crying.

We miss you and wished you would have remembered us your last years,

but I know there are benefits to not having to say goodbye.

I didn't know the real you well, but being with you today was closure.

A "goodbye" is only temporary.
