If Walls Could Talk
If wall could talk, what would they say? Would they tell the secrets of those within? Gossip to each other? They know all. Every secret of every life, every story of every person. They watch us, silently. Their mouths the cracks of age, their eyes the clocks of time.
Maybe walls do talk. When we’re not around they tell our secrets, our stories. And we never know. Around us, they are quiet, but it leaves us wondering: If walls could talk, what would they say?
In the old buildings, full of crack dust, They tell the story of the girl who lied about who she was. The old shack whispers about the murderer, Who cried as he fled the scene. The burnt down school mourns the two teenagers, Who didn’t make it out.
The walls are profound, The structure of society, The shelters that keep us safe. We neglect that they see everything Forget that they watch us. If your walls could talk, what would they say about you?
