If I Were More

Location

If I were more than mortal man

I would take the darkness from our land.

I would walk with the least of all,

and raise their stake beyond their dreams.

I would seek out the sadistic,

and ever end their love of pain.

I would gather strength enough

to wipe away war with a hand.

I wish, I wish, I wish I was,

and in my wishing I lost my love

for life, and flesh, and all the rest.

If I could, I would change it all,

refresh myself and life as well.

But the world never heeds my wishing.
