If I Could Go Back

I wish
That I could take that moment back
And every moment before that
I would do it differently
I swear
Every time
I was tired
I was sore
I was hot
I was cold
Every time
I complained
I whined
Every time
I did not give all my effort
Every single time
I fell short of what I knew I could do
Every time
I did not push myself harder
Every time
I was not more aggressive
Every time
I didn't run faster
Every time
I didn't hit harder
Every time
I did not pour every ounce of my being into every moment I had
I regret
I wish I could redo
If I could go back
I would do it differently
I would give my heart and soul to that game
I would pound and push myself harder
Harder, faster, stronger, longer, more
I would force myself to reach that feeling
That tingling, numbing sensation
When you completely and utterly exhaust yourself
I would keep going
I would never stop
If I could do things differently
 But I cannot
So, when you think you are too weak
Or too tired or not good enough
Remember
That you can never get this moment back
You can never get this chance back
Once you lose it, it's gone
So put your heart out every time you step on to that field
And play every game like it's your last
Because one day it will be
