Thou shall not take away our pride
By putting us down, or makin' us grovel in the mud.
You think you won by taking our rights,
But the battle has just begun.
We will stand and fight for what is rightfully ours.

No more will we put up with discrimination.
As Abraham Lincoln has freed us from inequality.
We will be equal, no, we are equal.
So we will show you that we do matter,
We will vote, and decide for ourselves.
We will not lose
This war shall be ours, and we will prevail.

Dr. Martin Luther King stood for our rights, but we are still suffering from racism. I want to show that we are all equal

Re'Ona

Civil rights are fought against all types of discrimination but the Civil Rights movement during the 1960s should never be forgotten. It gave people the courage to stand up for themselves and for others as well. Without it, discrimination probably would be more intense than it is today.
