If
If I
Could define
My perfect life
With nobody's input but mine,
It wouldn't
Be like
Anything
In this time.
I don't fit well in this mold.
I'd be bold.
I believe I
Would be a spy.
I'd train and try,
Suffer and strive,
Fail and triumph,
Fall and fly.
I'd take risks that were worth it.
Every honor, I'd earn it.
Overseas,
On my own,
Undetected,
Unknown.
Do the math.
Escape the trap.
Dematerialize.
Analyze.
Fade away,
But stay.
Find my data,
Info relay.
Adventure.
Fight.
Ploys.
Plights.
I'd act. I'd lie.
I'd guess but still try.
Gamble and be right.
I'd save lives.
I'd stop wars.
I'd pave a place
For peace.
I'd destroy WMDs.
I'd rescue little girls,
Restore families.
I'd see people die.
I'd beg the world for peace.
Assassin in the night
Defending refugees,
Persuasive negotiations,
Gunpoint pleas.
When I came home
From overseas
After a world war
To world peace,
I'd write a book
About my life.
I'd beg the world
For no more strife.
The pen is stronger
Than a revolver.
Strength is not
Sheer power.
Strength is data.
Strength is ideas.
Strength is righteousness,
And the battle is real.
Someone once told me,
"You can be
A wolf or a sheep.
You choose, not me.
A wolf is alone.
A sheep is ordinary.
Be wild and free.
Be social and safe.
Be lonely.
Be bored.
Do violence.
Do nothing."
Hard to say.
Wolves have no friends.
Wolves are never safe.
Sheep have no brain.
Sheep have no dreams.
If I thought
I had a chance
Of making a
Real difference.
If I thought
I was
Fit enough,
Smart enough.
If I could be,
Anyone, anything,
I'd be someone that did something.
I'd do something that meant something.
