identity through a chimera

I look through the broken glass of my being

just a thing for people to scream at without really seeing

I shake my mane to free the thoughts

a cowardly lion - it is what I am not

I don't take comfort in being told

because more often everyone around me is cold

what am I, just an amalgamation

just a thing without a sound nation

some tell me I should climb high

that I will find myself in the sky

telling me to use my hooves

because goats can manage the grooves

I don't take comfort in the orders

the people who dont know me building up borders

what am I, just am amalgamation

just a thing without a sound nation

do you not find me warm

I'll open my mouth for you to watch my fire scorn

but my efforts cause people to flee

as if they didn't see the good in me

I don't take comfort in your screams

you make me fill with anger - bursting at the seams

what am I, just an amalgamation

just a thing without a sound nation

they take away my purpose - leaving my life parched

making me look like only my parts

but, I will raise my serpentine tail

even if it makes them all wail

I don't take comfort in your pity

thinking I am a monster - or a street rat of the city

what am i, just an amalgamation

just a thing without a sound nation

NO I am not

i have a purpose - I will not go away and rot

I am a chimera fierce and true

i am what I am - that is not a problem for you
