I Would Be Poor

Why must we look for joy in money?

As if we were bees, and it were honey.

For I refuse to look to the green bills,

To fill my life with happiness and thrills.

If I were told to let everything go,

I could, but if it were you, I would say no

Because you are the moon to the tide,

A friend I can look for right by my side.

To be wealthy does not intrigue me,

For friendship is better then any money.

If given the choice, I would be poor,

As long as I know, our love can soar.
