I Wish I'd Known I'd Never Feel That Young Again
A summer when I was twelve
and my dad's house was always too hot
and the air outside was too dry.
My sisters and I bought sodas with quarters
and drank them at the park -without my parents knowing-.
Then I flew back to Pennsylvania
on a huge airplane
and met best friends named
Rosie and Emily.
We were nice at first
and they felt like sisters at my mom's house.
Things just have to die sometimes.
That summer was the beginning of the end.
