A year ago, I was me

But I was a different me than I am today

I wasn't concerned about my future

I didn't plan ahead to this day

But now I sit quite consciously 

composing my own timeline

for the destiny I'd like to own

for the destiny I'd like to call mine

I look at myself on this Monday, 

And in the mirror, note what I see

I was a different me than I am today

But a year ago I was still me
