I thought

Princesses, I thought, were weak, and monsters were strong

and fears were small and money was riches and kisses were love and tears were rivers

a and moments were forever but time was a lake and heartbreak was eternal and dreams were temporary

and friends were permanent and consequences didn't matter and beauty was important and crying was for cowards

and parties were for cool kids and reading was for losers and writing was for weirdos and effort got the A and smiling made you look dumb and glasses made you look smart and race was what we ran in school and girls were people too and way back when was just last week and we only laughed when ththings were good and prayed when things were bad and pinky swears were set in stone and we were invincible
