I Sat There

Feeling the grumble from below
I continued to sit and wait
Another thirty minutes pass
An ache begins to form
I continued to sit and wait
My face scrunched showing pain
I continued to sit and wait
Noticing stares, we all knew I didn’t belong here
The desire to be served as an equal overcomes it all
Close to closing, no other patrons left
I was served, at the very spot where I sat

Very intense poem, with strong imagery. I could imagine the hunger and pain of the person you described. Keep writing, and check out the "Resources" section for inspiration and ideas!
