I Pledge

I pledge that I will not come back to this country if this country will not come back to me.

This nation, The United States of America, as segregated as it is, I still call it home.

But what will you accomplish if you spend your whole life at home? Nothing!

We are called to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, but can we really pursue happiness if it's never calling us?

I live in turmoil, no doubt it's all dumb.

We live on turned soil, no doubt i'll be done.

You my friends live on fantasies. Fantasies that prey on the devotion of dreams.

What does this mean to you? What does it mean to me?

Birds that fly must first leap from their nest, no matter how big or small they let their wings do the rest.

Now you are the eagle and America is your nest, so leap to your dreams and let your wings do the rest.
