I Only Miss You in my Sleep

My skin crawls at night. It itches and burns and yearns for you. It sinks into the moonlit sheets and sighs for you. The pores open and search for another being in my bed, but all they find is silence. My limbs stretch around invisible branches, even in sleep, craving your touch. At midnight my hands try to tangle into your hair and grasp at the pillow in desperation.
