The summation of Dark Skin+Nappy Hair+Inevitable Awkwardness, should never = Confident Satisfaction

But society's order of operations don't seem to add up either

And I've never been one for proper arithmetic.

 

Three.

I should appear always meek, but never too meek.

always sensual, but never too sensual.

always put together.

always an object to be pursued.

always making sure my foot fits into this ideally boxed shoe of femininity.

 But my size elevens dont find their matches easily. 

and people were never meant to be put into boxes.

So I proudly walk without these labels.
