I Love You

I look at her

She looks at me

I never knew that I could feel this much

I want to become one with her,

Become part of her story,

Go down in history by her side

I take her hand

I see her smile

This is how I want to live

Together forever

Like a friendship necklace

A heart cut in two

As we sit in the grass

I hear her say it

Before she places a kiss

Just below my cheekbone

I wouldn't have thought that life could be this sweet

A touch on the face is all I need to fall in

With her the world is quiet

The sounds of the city disappear when she’s by my side

I’ll close my eyes and make a wish

That she won’t leave when it gets cold

She always was free like a bird

And birds fly south in the winter

If only August could last forever
