"I Love You"

It is hard for me to say "I love you"
And no, it's not for the reason you think.

I do not fear you,
Therefore, I do not fear you not saying it back.
I do not fear not being loved,
I've had enough practice in the art of it being unrequited

Saying "I love you" is terrifying
Not because it isn't true.
Gods know, it might be the holiest of truths I have spoken
It is pure, honest, intrinsic
It is true.

It is hard for me to say "I love you"
And no, it's not for the reason you might think.

I am a poet,
And the words that are speak are my tool
My magick, and my power
They draw out the most intense of feelings
The heaviest of sins.
I am a poet,
And my reaily is my truth
My truth, is my passion
My passion, is my greatest ally

It is hard for me to say "I love you"
Because it is true.
And you might not understand my truth
It might not fit into your reality
It might be the beautiful puzzle piece you've chosen to ignore

It is hard for me to say "I love you"
Because you might not recognize the intensity,
The passion, the reality, behind such poetry
My love for you, is poetry
My love for you, is magick
My love for you, is truth.

It is hard for the to say "I love you".
And it has helped me understand why people are poets instead of lovers.

So many feelings, so many words
So little people who understand them.
