I long to gaze upon

I long to gaze upon the perfect beauty of my Lord.

Everyday I go into battle with my enemy, and His word is my sword.

Temptation at every turn, but my soul the depths will not win,

For my almighy God begot a son, whose blood was shed for my sin.

I am in awe of the greatness of His beauty, power, and might.

His true and unconditional love for us is neverending, such as day and night.

There is power in the name of Jesus, so lift your voices in praise,

For one he will return for His people and to begin the end of days.

The people will tremble and every knee shall bow,

As close to the earth as the body will allow.

For in that great moment, all will know,

What path they have paved, and whether up or down they go.
