I LET GO
Exposed no longer a child
Quickly grew and spent
I heard them argue
They never reconciled
I clenched my pen
If not now then when
I let go
Ulterior motives created a stretch
The absence was alluring
Fortified by the knowledge and stress
By then the tears had dried
Your ego no longer blocked my sunlight
The warmth bubbled inside
I clenched my pen
If not now then when
I let go
This poem is about:
Me
My family
