I Know

Wed, 08/05/2015 - 17:04 -- kjchand

Despite what is said
And despite what is done
I know who I am
And i know what i've won.

Like a ribbon of blue
Or a token of gold,
My soul is set free;
It's shakles now cold.

Let the venom spill.
Let the posion drain.
For my eyes feel all the glory
Within the fairness of the rain.

I know what i've become,
And i know that all the hate i've seen
Melts like ice-cubes in the sun.

And from that water, i shall drink.
From that water i shall bathe.
I shall lift my tattered head
Like a smile within its gaze
Because despite that which is said,
And despite all that has been done.
I know that i am awesome,
And i know that i have won.
