I Hope You Know I Love You

Dear parents,

I want to exaplain myself the best way I can,

but most of the time I don't have a plan.

I want to succeed, you see,

when they tell me I can't.

Is it possible to defy the odds,

I have to please the Gods.

My parents.

I want to do well for you,

But I keep messing up not one, but two

I moved back becasue money got tight

and I'm sorry.

Things don't always go the way we plan,

and I know it.

2017 has been hard for us,

lost a grandpa, then a friend and it's tough on us,

but we're strong.

Stronger than ever.

I swear that I want to make life better

for us.

If I could reach up to the stars and grasp a million I would.

If it would make you feel better.

Look how you raised me.

Independently; on my own.

I don't need someone to tell me I'm grown,

I know it.

I pay for all my things and press on,

you see,

I don't want to ask you for help.

You've raised me to figure it out on my own,

and now it's your turn to get back what you loaned.

I'm on it.

I'm going to get my degree

and pay back everything that you've gave to me,

and my sisters.

You've raised us three.

To the best of you ability.

You didn't fail.

I know sometiems it might feel that way,

But I swear,

sometimes we just have to learn the hard way.

You did it right.

And I know if granpa could see us now,

he'd look down and say "wow,

God, almighty."

Mom and dad,

I want to make you proud.

Going to school is the only way I know how.

I'll be honest.

I'm scared on if I succeed.

But I'm trying.

I'll do my best for you,

and, you already know this,

I love you.
