I Hope You Are Happy
I looked up to you
You were my world
I wanted to make you happy
When I found out your weren't
I didn't want to be happy
I wanted to be sad
I tried to feel bad
I tried to make you feel glad
Then you told me why you weren't happy
Why you made my mother sad
And then I really did feel bad
I didn't have to pretend
Because it hurt
To know that your struggles were the cause
of my childhood happy family
But I learned
You didn't mean it
And you're still sad
I still look up to you
You're still my world
Even if you can't have what would make you happy
This poem is about:
Me
My family
