I Dream Of Loving You

As long hours pull at me

And the fading light comforts

Still I wait, longing for peace

My sight grows weary

Thinking, I stutter and trip

I fold under warmth and shadows

Bursting to color, l remember

In detail too fine and too intimate

A memory unmade

A brightness that clouds my vision

Blurs and changes the thought

But I will not forget

Even as I move and breath

A lingering hope remains burning

Turning into flame

Once more that darkness comes

But l go easily in want to see

That same glimmer as before

Again l conjure a whisp

Smaller and more vivid

Gone too quickly from me

Upon waking l wonder

Now understanding what I saw

A swirl of gold and blue

Daylight breaks under stress

But l have not yet left, still

I dream of loving you
