I Don't Know Who I Am

I am not my mother nor my father

I don’t know what I am or who I will be

But I know that there is only one me

No one could walk in my shoes

And no one could understand my complex mind, because as you can see

I am me

I am a scared young lady who doesn’t know where her life is heading

I am enrolling into college to pursue a career I am dreading

But no one will know what I am dealing with

No one would understand the hard decisions I am faced with

Because you aren’t me

Only I know what it feels like to be trapped in this body

In this life

In this world

To be honest I’m just a scared little girl

So this is me…or is it?

You will never know, because this is the life of me, Vivian Pollocks,

A life that I know may not be difficult but a challenge every day for me.
