I Dare You to Love

Sit there

With your sad head upon the desk

Shaggy hair in front of your eyes

Closed yourself off and

Shut down again

Stay there

With your lacerated arms crossed

Mouth closed in silent accusation

Blaming me for something I didn't even know about

Stand there

With your torn wrists

Boot upon my chest

Pushing out my life while

Apologizing

Lie there

With our bones wrapped together

Soft breath upon my neck

Manipulating ropes twisted around

My soul.
