I am a black 23-yr old male living in 21st century America.

I am an official citizen of the United States of America.

I live in the land of the free and the home of the brave. 

I live in one of the most developed nations in the world. 

I am the second son in a middle class family within middle GA.

I am currently a second year medical student. 

I will be the first in my immediate family to become a doctor. 

I will be turning 24 in the coming months this year. 

I should be happy and proud, right? Yes and No. 

As long as blatant racial injustice, as what happened to George Floyd, continues to exist in America and around the world, I’m far from satisfied.
