I Am...Scholarship Slam

I Am…Scholarship Slam

I am Black and Black lives matter.

I wonder when all the killings and racism will stop.

I hear, “Get on the ground…”, and gun shots on my block.

I see people of color being stereotyped every day.

I want justice, peace and to be treated the right way.

I am Black and Black lives matter.

I pretend to be someone you want me to be.

I feel the hatred and dislike when you look at me.

I touch the lives of others with my motivational words.

I worry if the voices of my people are really being heard.

I cry because I hope one day things will get better.

I am Black and Black lives matter.

I understand how the law works so let’s make that clear.

I say don’t judge me by what you see or what you hear.

I dream about the world someday becoming a better place.

I try to stay positive and have faith with a smile on my face.

I hope someday that we could all live happily ever after.

I am Black and Black lives matter.
